A major Southern California utility has committed to one of the largest energy storage projects ever built, a 250 MW facility to be constructed entirely of lithium-ion batteries to provide grid stabilization services and “peaker” capacity within the utility's transmission network. McCalmont was selected to design this breakthrough facility to be completed in 2020.
