Message from our CEO
Our sole focus since 2009 has been renewable energy. We design commercial & industrial, utility scale, and government projects for project developers and EPCs. We provide full electrical engineering designs including DC and AC up through medium voltages, and we work with close partners for structural and civil engineering.
Our mission is to deliver the best designs at the lowest construction cost for your solar PV, energy storage, microgrid, and electric vehicle charger projects. We listen to both contractor and owner needs, offer value-engineered suggestions to lower costs, and produce a well thought-out set of project drawings. We are often told by contractor and building officials that they love our drawings because they are grounded in the real world and are accurate and easy to follow. Even utilities have recommended us to EPCs for their work.

Darlene and Tom McCalmont founded McCalmont Engineering in 2009 with the objective of capitalizing on their years of solar experience to create the nation’s leading solar design and engineering company. Ever since, McCalmont has been providing knowledgeable and experienced clean energy design and engineering services for large scale projects (commercial, industrial, and utility scale). McCalmont delivers complete renewable energy project designs including solar power plants, microgrids, energy storage systems, and electric vehicle charger infrastructure. McCalmont Engineering is licensed in over 40 U.S. states.
